Geotek Room

This room hosts a fully automatic multiparameter analysis bench for rock cores built by Geotek Ltd called the MSCL (Multi Sensor Core Logger). It supports experiments done with the CT and µCT equipment, and also those performed in the ITRAX Laboratory, where geochemical analyses of cores are done using microscopic X-ray fluorescence (XRF).

The Geotek bench is equipped with a linear scan camera, a gamma-density meter to measure density, a magnetic susceptibility sensor, a near-infrared and visible light spectrometer to detect and semi-quantify minerals, and a portable XRF sensor for geochemical measurements.
