3D printer

LSince 2019, the lab has been equipped with a Raise Pro 2 3D printer. The printer has a printing volume of 30 x 30 x 30 cm with a precision of 0.78, 0.78, and 0.078 microns in nozzle position in the X, Y, and Z axes, respectively. Nozzles of 0.2 and 0.8 mm can be used.

Photogrammetry

A photogrammetry machine with a rotating plate can take 360° pictures of small samples a few centimetres in size. The camera is a Nikon D750 with a Nikkor 50-mm prime lens and 60-mm macro lens.

Forklift and overhead cranes

The CT Scan Lab is equipped with a forklift and two overhead cranes with one-ton capacity. They are used to move and manipulate large and heavy objects, for example a hydraulic flume or a tree trunk.

Leica stereomicroscope

Since 2019, the lab has been equipped with a Leica MZ6 stereomicroscope with an integrated Leica IC90 E camera. It has a 10-megapixel CMOS sensor for high definition 3140 x 2160 pixel images with a 6.3:1 zoom. The magnification range is 16x to 80x.
